I am very disappointed by the people serving the cafeteria/ bakery area. My family and I have been coming to this bodegón since 2009 and never had I had such bad service as I did tonight, the person serving the bakery was very rude she totally ignore the number system they have and when she remember she started changing the numbers without calling them when I told her she had skip me and I had been standing there waiting she said I was too busy talking to someone else… well I wasn’t and even if I was my mother was there paying attention too and the lady never called our number she just skipped a whole bunch. Needless to say I didn’t buy anything. That woman was very disrespectful.
I have been a long time customer of this establishment, and always shared positive comments with friends and relatives. But recently we had a very disappointing experience with the shift manager Vicente. My wife and infant son were rushed to the cashier to pay for a 0.99 cent banana as my son needed a snack, I understand there are store protocols for opening unpaid items however there is also professional courtesy where a manager could have volunteered help for her to pay, by no means I'm asking for free stuff but I would suggest perhaps take the cash and make the payment for her since she was tied up caring for the baby and my other 5 year old, this is the sole purpose of a manager to difuse situations, assist customers and set examples for other employees, instead Vicente decided start an open ended argument with myself and my wife in front of several other customers, completely unacceptable behavior on his part. I'm am uncertain of Vicentes qualifications to be a manager or what background he carries, but he definitely needs to be retrained or at least moved to a department where he doesn't have direct contact with customers.
I shop at Latin markets quite a bit, this one needs a sincere course in food handling, I watched as the butchers were handling beef and then handled chicken without changing gloves or washing their hands. Hard pass on this place. They get two stars because their coffee is good.
Don’t ever buy meat here…apparently it can only last a day. If it gets bad they won’t return it. I have never had an issue like this anywhere but here. This has got to be the most ridiculous policy I have ever of and makes you wonder how fresh their meat is. So consider yourself warn. The pork shoulder I bought was rotten.
Typical Spanish supermarket. Large cafeteria. We tried the empanadas and they were OK. Nice size bakery, produce, and meat departments. Large selection of Latin and Caribbean products. Purchased a few meat specials, but overall found the pricing to be high on some normal items we shop for. :)
It was my first time visiting. The store has two sections: a cafeteria with limited menu options and a grocery section with Hispanic products, seafood, chicken, and beef.
I bought some shrimp and fish, and as soon as I got home, I wanted to prepare the seafood; however, the shrimp and fish were sour and smelled awful; The seafood products should be inspected daily by
It is not too often that I feel discriminated against because I speak English when I am spending money but this store's employees are very good at it. Instead of trying to help you, the second they hear English they will look the other way …
Went for cappuccino, empanadas and pan de yuca! The coffee was mostly milk and no coffee, the pan de yuca was awful! Dry and cold, and this is 8:25 AM today! The only half-way decent food was the empanadas! Very dissatisfied and disappointed! Never again breakfast at Bodegon!
